Summary of student workshops and debate - My City
This year's student workshops held as part of DoFA'13 is a mix of disciplines and attitudes projects.
In accordance with Festival’s theme "Acupuncture City" interdisciplinary project teams supervised by a group of tutors representing Wrocław’s Universities and supported by the Office of Economic Development of Wrocław Municipality, will "pierce" various places on the city’s map.
The project starts with the railway embankment at Bogusławskiego St. - a place which exists "somehow", having developed for years, yet, without an overall plan and a coherent spatial - aesthetic concept. The workshop’s task is merely an "attempt". Its objective is to try to develop a common dialogue language, outline a framework for general identification of the place and develop a scheme for initiatives.

This year, for the first time we invited to participate in workshops students and tutors of different disciplines. Project groups will consist of students from Wrocław’s Universities. The mentoring part will be provided by tutors from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Technology (Tomasz Głowacki), the Department of Ceramics and Glass of the E. Geppert Fine Arts Academy (associate professor Gabriel Palowski), the Institute of Landscape Architecture of the University of Environmental and Life Sciences (Dr. Kamil Adamczyk), the Institute of Sociology of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Wrocław (Dr Iwona Borowik).
The participants’ meeting is an experimental platform. If, in such a short time, a successful common methodology of work is created, this initiative may become a beginning of a long cooperation ...
